As the great-grandson of immigrants from what is now Ukraine, Attorney Michael T. Muha takes great pride in being the first attorney on his mother and father’s sides of the family. Born in Greenville and raised in Hermitage, Attorney Muha became the first Academic Games Leagues of America National Champion in Hickory High School and Mercer County history, winning a National Title in the game World Events in his sophomore

year at Kissimmee, Florida.

After graduating high school in 2002, Michael attended Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy. In that same year, Michael attended The American University, where he earned a Master of Arts in Political Science – American Politics. While studying at American, Michael interned in the United States House of Representatives for U.S. Rep Phillip S. English (R-3rd District – PA) and was also a civics instructor for middle and high-schoolers visiting the greater Washington D.C. metro area. In 2011, Michael earned a Juris Doctorate from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University (now called the Cleveland State University College of Law.) Michael returned home to Hermitage and has lived in the City since.

In November 2017, Michael was the youngest ever elected Hermitage City Commissioner and was re-elected twice, serving from 2018 to 2023 upon his retirement from public office. While serving as Hermitage City Commissioner, Michael worked to bring hundreds of new jobs to Hermitage while also fighting for Hermitage residents by keeping taxes low and

defending their property rights.

Since April 2012, Michael has been barred in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, having represented thousands of clients seeking legal help in criminal defense, family law, and personal injury matters. The counties that Michael has practiced in include Mercer County, Crawford County, Venango County, Butler County, Lawrence County, Erie County, Beaver County, Allegheny County,

Potter County, Clarion County, and Union County.

Regarding criminal defense cases, Attorney Muha has represented clients in cases that run the gamut from DUI and Possession of a Controlled Substance to Rape and Murder. If need be, Attorney Muha will take the case to trial and has been successful multiple times in getting his clients positive results. Attorney Muha believes strongly that the God-given rights each American is born with should be defended zealously and without fear.

As for family law cases, Attorney Muha is well adept to the fluid nature of family dynamics and how things for you can go south quickly. Attorney Muha is trained as a mediator and has extensive experience in conducting and participating in custody and divorce mediation between competing parties. He has taken many cases to trial, arguing for positions like additional custody time and school district choice. Attorney Muha also prides himself as an attorney that facilitates adoptions bringing families closer together.

Besides his private practice, Attorney Muha has also been employed as a Mental Health Hearing Master for Mercer County, a Hearing Officer for the Mercer County Housing Authority, a Guardian Ad Litem in Mercer County Children and Youth Services cases, and as a part-time Public Defender in Crawford County.

For fun, Michael likes to golf with friends, watch movies, play board and video games, and is currently writing his first novel,

which was started by his beloved late father, Terry.

Michael lives in Hermitage with his wife Rebecca and his dog, Tiberius.
